Christmas in a nut shell

Well christmas sure went by fast. I've done a horrible job staying on top of the important things that have happened to us in the last couple of weeks. It would be asking alot of me to get the every day things but you would think that I could get the big ones down.... oh well I will try to remember.

My husband might kill me for putting all of this up but it was kindof cool and I don't want to forget it.
During our Month in Las Vegas it was time where my husband really needed to make sure that Orthopedic Surgery was the right place for us to be going. It took a lot of late night prayers and fasting for him to come to the answer that our path needed to be different. It has always been my husbands dream and goal to become an Orthopedic Surgeon and he worked for hard for it, which made all of this much harder for him. He decided that he would ask the Military to please take his name of the deferral list and put him under family practice at Nellis Air force base. He has never been excited about this choice but him following the lord has been a real growing experience. During December we would be finding out if Brett got his choice of Nellis Air Force base, he knew that he already had it but it was still something we needed to make sure of. 4-5 days before we were to find out we received an email from Mount Clemens, ( the Orthopedic residence that Brett wanted to get into) the email went on about how they really hoping everything worked out with the military because if it worked out with that he had a spot at there program. See he had to get a deferral first from the military before he could get an Orthopedic spot. My husband already knew that they wanted him but I think it was really hard for him to get this letter. His dream he achieved but he wouldn't be able to do it. I'm so proud of Brett following the Lord. He did get into the Nellis residency and we are so excited to be heading down to Las Vegas.

Now that that is out of the way lets get to the fun things we have been up to. There was alot of Christmas shopping that had to be done this year. We went with Barry and Tara the day after Thanksgiving and hit all the hot spots.... so tired. We decorated our house.... inside and out and we watched every Christmas movie made. Around the 10th of December we went to the Nyssa Parade.. which was awesome. The best candy ever. Normally we let Paisley just get whatever but this time Brett and I were going crazy for the candy. We came home with so much candy, I wondered what we were thinking.

The next weeks were busy helping my mom get ready for all the parties to come. Our family was in charge on the Romans Christmas party which is the night before Christmas, about 70 people. Then my mother has Christmas day at her house. Breakfast and Lunch, wrapping presents for 20 grandkids and 10 children. Also the next day my Grandma and Grandpa wanted there 60th wedding anniversary. It was so crazy. My mother worked herself way to hard and I wish I could have been there to help her with the last thing but I tried to do alot before that. I didn't take one picture of the party the night before Christmas or of the party the day of at my moms house. I really don't know if I ever want pictures there though. I don't believe you can understand how crazy and fun it is with all of us in the smallest room ever in a picture, I need to video it. I did take alot of pictures of our family Christmas morning so I will post those.

Katie, I enjoyed catching up with your little family through your post. I wanted to tell you about a conversation I had with someone the night before last. He had called and asked me to speak at the end of the month in their ward, but I had a conflict with another ward conference. I told him, "you know who you should get? Brett Johnson; he's a great speaker and has such a powerful testimony." I then proceeded to tell him how impressed I've been with him every time I've seen him in at Dr. Page's office and that I knew he would do great in his chosen profession. I forgot that he originally had wanted to go into the orthopedic side of medicine, not the family practice end. I know he will do an awesome job there, and I just thought it was neat how much he relied on the Lord to help him in making that decision. I'm sure he would do well either way. We will be sad when you have to leave, though! I loved Paisley's coat on Sunday (McCall got one exactly like it for Christmas) and her hair was adorable, too!
Love, Tami

I can't tell you how excited we are to have you back, I know you probably won't be that close but close enough to get together every so often.
